Crisis Intervention

Senior Advocates has a staff member on call at all times in the event that one of our clients has an emergency. If a crisis arises, we are available to react on an immediate basis to assess the situation, (in or out of the hospital), communicate with physicians, arrange for post-hospital care providers, and identify the need for short and long term care. Our expertise in working with older adults enables us to meet challenges as they arise and make necessary recommendations based on the individual's needs.

Immediate Responses in Crisis Situations

A geriatric care manager is on-call 24 hours a day to respond to any situation. We will go to your senior adult's home to help them up if they fall, fix a tripped breaker switch, shut off the water if there is a leak or meet them on the road to assist them with a flat tire or getting their car towed.

We will follow the ambulance or meet your parent in the emergency room and stay with them for as long as you feel it is necessary. We will talk to the medical staff and keep you constantly up to the minute with all information. We will put you on the phone with the doctor to get the straight information so you can make an informed decision.

Hurricane Evacuation Plan

Senior Advocates of Brevard will work with the senior client and their family to have a viable evacuation plan that can be put into motion when there is a threat of a weather event.
